Was your recent thought an upstream thought or a downstream thought?
That was the focus of the Art of Allowing Workshop with Jerry and Hicks that I recently attended. As a student of Ask and It Is Given (the teachings of Abraham), I was already familiar with the concept but the analogy drove the point home. A downstream thought is a thought that is aligned with your Source energy; it is in “the flow” and makes you feel good. An upstream thought is thought that is just the opposite, one that doesn’t feel so good and is not aligned with Source energy.
Quite often, we get entangled in our thoughts about why things are happening to us and how we can make things happen. This is equivalent to paddling upstream, struggling against the current. When we let go of the struggle and think those thoughts and do those things that feel good (aka “going with the flow”), we ride the rapids downstream effortlessly arriving at what we want.
Let this be the question you continually ask yourself today: is that an upstream thought or a downstream thought? If it’s an upstream thought, simply reach for a better feeling thought. Strive to let go of your oars and the let the current of Source energy lead you downstream.
